This is interesting

I apologize to you all for not writing another installment f foxholes this week, I promise I will get to work on it right away.

So I was talking with Jason tonight about a book I read about in Men's Health about D&D., by Vin Diesel, which is odd to say the least, but probably going to set of a chain of blog events. So I went home to get the title, and ran across another interesting thing in my magazine. It was an article about wingwomen. The same as a wingman when out in public on the prowl to meet the opposite sex. So I was wondering how this is any different than an escort service. I dunno, but it is kind of bizarre.

Looks like Vin Diesel only wrote the foreward. Anyway, I've read in more than just a few places and actually seen an interview (I think it was on the Today show) where he talks about being really into D&D as an adolescent. Matt Lauer was the person interviewing him and was kind of making a "wow, a cool guy like you played D&D?" kind of a thing about it.

Talking about a wingman just makes me think of that ad series from Coors that always made me laugh.

"She's towing an anchor,
A junior investment banker.
Who's talking 'bout herself
and no one else.
So buy her a beer,
It's the reason you're here,
Mighty Wingman.
You're takin' one for the team,
so your buddy can live the dream.

Yeah, for some reason the whole song just really sticks in my head and gets my toes a' tappin'.

That wingwoman thing is the best idea a merchandise-challenged pimp ever came up with. All the benefits of running an "escort service" without having to actually have desirable females. I'm convinced that we are somehow entering a new phase in American entrepreneurship in which bad photocopies of any old service job can be had for the price of a venti latte. Which is a lot of money.

And go back and edit your post and fix the Men's Health link so that it actually links either to the article you are talking about or the book which it references...

That's it, Eric, don't let him push you around one bit. Stand your ground.
