Oh how very, very true. But also how difficult a concept to get your mind around. Or, more truthfully, to get your pocketbook around. On the one hand, I'm blown away by the amount of money that is going to the relief effort in Southeast Asia. But on the other, I'm blown away by the ability for people to pull the "not my problem" cord on this and every other issue that confronts them. Did I mention I find myself caught here every time I pass some bonehead with a cardboard sign?
